The boys finally saved up enough fun money to buy something for themselves. So we headed to The Dollar Tree where they could get the most out if their money.
Right when we waked in there was a display of plates, bowls, and all kids of summer type things arranged by color.
Kaysen saw a water pitcher. I knew immediately what was going to happen next...
Gage saw a RED one. He loves to water things...and he loves red. The boy snatched that red water pitcher and never let go. No matter how many other cool things he saw, that was all he wanted.
Kaysen saw a squirt gun. So he grabbed it.
Oh, but then he saw a bright green one that looked like a pistol. So he changed.
Then he saw these...
And I knew there was no turning back. This boy loves guns, especially cowboy guns. He's also been asking for a pair of spurs for quite some time. So he finally got some.
As soon as we got to grandmas he changed into his wranglers and strapped those spurs on...only to have one snap in half. He was sad, but he still had one spur!! He walked around with that one spur for a couple of days, until the spur part broke. (that's what we get for buying the ones that cost $1)
Man were those boys excited to count out their own money at the register. It was quite an ordeal. I was trying to bottle feed two VERY hungry and TIRED babies and count out coins while there was a line with 6 people waiting behind me. Oh well, I was teaching my boys how to work and buy something of their own.
They loved the whole experience and can't wait to go back again.
