Stats...

Man I'm learning just how hard it is to get BOTH of my babies to look at me at the SAME time for a picture. It's nearly impossible. This is the best I could get...

They had a check up today. It was supposed to be their 2 month check up, they were really 11 weeks and 5 days.

Kynlee was 10lbs 1oz and 22"long.

Teagen was 10lbs 7oz and 23" long. He has now passed his sister.

I can't remember their percentiles but they are well onto the charts now!!! Yay!

I Melt...

This little guy has a way of making me melt. Something about him...just does it to me.

It could be his cry. He really does have a sad cry.  It's starts so soft, like a whimper and gradually builds. If he's really wanting my attention or if I'm not feeding him quick enough it turns into an all out scream but still a sad one.

Maybe it effects me so much because of the 50+ times he got poked in the heel when he was just 2 days old, to check his blood sugar levels.

Or because when he got his second PKU his heel wouldn't bleed (from being poked so much) so each time they squeezed his foot he screamed.

Or it could be from when he got circumcised and the bleeding wouldn't stop, and he was, once again screaming in pain.

It could be a combo of all these things. I've been pretty lucky when it came to healthy babies. So when we had to monitor him and then when we almost had to take him to the ICU I got a little scared and attached to the little guy.

Or it could be that when his heart rate dropped during delivery I was so scared all I wanted was for him to survive.

It could be the way he whimpers so softly as he's putting himself to sleep.

Or the way he reminds me of a porcelain doll with his fair completion and perfectly smooth face.

But I'm pretty sure it could definitely be from his smile though. I mean look at this cute little boy...

All I know is I'm sure glad that this little guy tagged along for this fun adventure. I couldn't imagine life without him, even if he does turn me into a softie.

Christmas Eve...

On Christmas Eve we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Miller's house.

Where we all got spoiled. The boys got these cool scooters and have been having some major fun with them.

Then we headed home to begin our Christmas Eve traditions.

We opened new pajamas.
Kaysen is saying "yee haw!"

Gage is saying, "To infinity and beyond!"

Then we drank some hot cocoa and opened our family present. Which is always a game that we then play together. This year it was "Don't Break the Ice."

Then we sat together and watched "The King is Born."

Then we left Santa's favorite cookies out...mint Oreos!

That was our Christmas Eve. Boy were the boys excited. We worried that they wouldn't sleep well, however they fell asleep within only a couple minutes and were is ready for Christmas morning.

More of that to come....

Knife Maker...

This is the first knife that Jerry has completed. Looks pretty sweet huh? He made it for me :)

I can't believe that Jerry made this knife. He drew it up, cut the metal, sanded it all down, buffed it and every other step needed that I have not mentioned.

Not only that, he taught himself how to do it. By watching videos and reading books and other info online.

He's amazing when it comes to doing this hands on type stuff. He's a perfectionist so anything he does turns out great.

I picture...

Gosh this little gal knows how to make me smile. She is almost always a happy and laid back girl...except when she's waiting to be fed.

I've waited a long time for this little one to arrive.

Jerry had two boys that he'd get to do all kinds of fun stuff with. He talked of car restorations, basketball, football, baseball and hunting.

I pictured me making sure I was present at all of these events because I thought we may be having all boys. I didn't want to be left out. I still don't want to be.

Now I picture prom dresses,Volleyball, softball, pedicures, and wedding dresses.

But I also picture Kynlee and I alongside these boys during those car restorations, hunting escapades and home basketball matches.

I can't wait!

Good Morning...

Here is to having a good day...even if it did start off earlier than I hoped! How can I be grouchy when I had theses cute smiling faces waking me up???

(Kynlee was still asleep during this pic that's why she's not in it)

My grandparents from Oregon sent down these cute Christmas outfits for the twins. Teagen is a reindeer &  Kynlee is Santa's helper. As you can see from some of the pics, they weren't really in a picture taking mood... But they still look cute.

One is happy...she just got fed. The other is mad...he's waiting to be fed.

This is the best group picture we could get. Coordinating 4 kids is tricky business I tell ya!

Hope you have a good day!

Nativity Play...

Every Monday before Christmas we go over the Nativity will our kids for Family Home Evening. Last year we recorded it with Jeremy & Jennie.

This year we invited Jeremy & Jennie's family and Greg & Cayla Fish's family over for a Nativity play and some hot cocoa.

Here is the angel telling Mary she will have a baby.

Here is Mary wrapping baby Jesus.

Here are the shepherds and wise men coming to bring Him gifts and worship Him.

We had 10 kids there. Ages 2 months to 6 years and all them were so good.  Jerry read from the scriptures and they walked in when it was their turn then sat so quiet and still. It was seriously amazing how well they did. It's like they knew this was a sacred story.

Christmas Card...

For those of you who won't get a card in the mail...

We hope you have a great holiday season!

We weren't able to get a family picture since the twins were born. Well at least not a good one that I'd like to put on a card. So this one worked out perfect!

Maybe It's Me...

Lately our second son has been a bit of a handful. He hasn't wanted to listen too much and he says he can't do things like feed himself, put on his clothes, etc.

It may sound bad but Jerry and I said that Gage would be one of the hardest parts of having twins. He's strong minded and attached to me.

We've been asking ourselves what his deal is? Why is he acting like this? Finally, at 3:30am while I was up withe the babies I thought, "Maybe it's me.".

So today I've tried to change. I've been a bit more patient. I've been willing to help him a bit more. I let him help me too.

We made banana bread together. Anyone who knows Gage, knows he LOVES to cook and is constantly pretending to do so.

Amazing what a little one on one time has done for this boy. This morning was GREAT!

Then I had to feed Kynlee and Teagen. Then Kaysen got home from school. Out came the little stinker in Gage. That boy just wants my attention and obviously I've been slacking in that area. Otherwise he wouldn't be acting this way. So, it is me. I gotta change before I can expect him to.

Here's to change.

And hopefully easier days and a happier son.

Blessings...

We blessed the twins on December 4th. Jerry did an amazing job (like always). The Spirit was so strong and of course I couldn't help but have tears in my eyes as I listened to my amazing husband say those sweet and precious words to each child. I love that he holds the priesthood and is able to do this for our family.

I just love this picture of Jerry and Kynlee. The sad part of the day is that in the business of he day we only got a pic of Jer with Kynlee and me Teagen. It's quite a job to get 6 people ready and out he door on time, and still get pictures taken.

Boy did he look handsome though.  His sister sure looked beautiful too.

Sadly, this is the best we could do at getting a family picture. We took it after our family dinner. Our kids had been running around and playing with cousins, that explains Gage's missing tie and Kaysen's untucked shirt. At least the food stains aren't noticeable.  In all the others pics we are wrestling Gage or not looking at the camera. Oh well. I guess you just get to see the real deal. Which is fine because this picture pretty much sums up my world. I don't mind showing it off :)

Letters to Santa...

Kaysen told me what to write to Santa, he said it was too many words and his hand would hurt if he wrote it all. Look how awesome his signature is though....

Gage also told me what to write. (just on a more confusing way)We've been watching the Santa Clause movies and he loves seeing the elves make the toys. He sure is getting better at writing his name too although on this one he had some help.

2 Months...

Yep. Kynlee and Teagen are now 2 months old. It's craziness I tell ya.

Nights (for the most part) are great. They each only get up once. They go down around 9:30. Teagen has been waking up first around 2 followed by Kynlee around 4. Then Teagen will sleep until about 6 and Kynlee will wake up around 7. I really think if I'd let Teagen fuss a bit more he would sleep longer. He isn't really taking in a full feeding at this time so I don't think he's really THAT hungry. But I feel bad making Jer listen to crying when he has to get to work a couple hours later. However, he's off the next 3 days so I'm going to expiriment and see if Teagen will go a bit longer. I really am not complaining at all. They really are great sleepers (most nights).

Gosh it is starting to get fun though. They are both smiling at us and it is great. I love trying to make them smile. Now I just want to hear those cute baby laughs. Some days I go crazy. Mostly because I feel like I'm constantly going and everything I do I have to do with 4 kids in tow. But I feel like most days we have a grip on things and are doing great. It's a learning experience. And learning we are. We sure love these two babies and for the moment our family feels complete and we are loving our new way of life.

New Partner...

My new Pilates partner. If only I looked cute doing these exercises.

.

Know It All...

I just learned a new lesson when it comes to marriage. I was folding laundry. Namely whites, which happen to be my least favorite to do. As I am putting away Jerry's socks I see money laying in the bottom of the drawer. I worried that it was grocery money that got placed on the wrong spot. Then. I realized it may be money for my gift. You see, all the bill paying and checkbook balancing is done by me. We go over our budget together but every transaction is seen by my eyes. This makes it hard for Jer to be able to get me gifts without me knowing what it is. So, I wondered if this was money for that reason. Then I wondered how he would have gotten it out of our accounts without me noticing it. I pushed the idea aside for a bit. It wouldn't leave my mind for long though. At dinner I brought it up. Instantly Jerry looked disappointed. Turns out he took the mula from our secret stash of emergency money while i quickly jumped in the shower one day. He did so with the intent on replacing it after Christmas. That way I wouldn't know how much my gift cost or where he got until after I had it in my hands. After telling me all this he said, "Now I'm not even excited for Christmas anymore. This year I was REALLY going to surprise you. Now it no surprise at all." He says this because the amount of money found matches the amount it would cost to get something I've really wanted but just finally asked for. He was going to make a few small purchases and have those presents under the tree. And save this one for when I thought I was done. Then whamo! He'd bring it out and surprise me. As he's telling me his Christmas plans I couldn't help but feel bad. Yeah, that would have been a way cooler way to figure out what I was getting. But mostly I feel horrible because his excitement and joy of giving was crushed by the very person he was trying so hard to make happy. I told him I was sorry. He's not mad but he said, "You couldn't just leave it alone and forget it ?" I don't know why I couldn't. Especially when I had a little inkling of a thought that it was for me. Instead I had to poke and prod and know everything. Now I do. And for once I don't like knowing everything.

My (four) kids...

Yes...at least one of the 4 have to be screaming :)Yet they are still cute. And do you notice how round my babies faces are getting?

My helper...

Right now I literally have two screaming babies. Ok. Well 5 minutes ago I did. This happens many times a day. That's the tricky part of twins. Feeding them at the same time, when they don't like to be nursed at the SAME time. So, I'm nursing kynlee (and blogging via iPhone) and Kaysen is feeding Teagen. Once again, that boy is a lifesaver!

P.S. I'm on a roll today...I've done 20 minutes of pilates, washed, dried, folded and put away 3 loads of laundry and made banana bread. Just don't mind the fact that I still haven't showered. I'm going walking when Jer gets home so I'll do it then...I promise.

Snow Day Part II...

Yesterday we got about 5" of snow, which may not sound like much compared to the 24" that is covering my parents yard, but that 5" was just perfect for our needs. We pulled out the sleds and tubes and headed over to some hills on our property. Cousins came over to join in on the fun. Jerry also rigged up a sled from a piece of his brothers broken dryer and pulled people around on it with our 4 wheeler. I went for a couple of these rides...two of which I crashed. HARD. After the second one, I knew my hip would have a good bruise and that my wrist would probably break in the next crash so I stuck to just watching my boys sled. Boy were they in heaven. That is until their fingers would freeze. All we had for gloves were the soft fabric ones that get soaked. Luckily, I had the twins bundled up in their car seats in the car so we'd sit in there and warm up their hands and then head back out for more fun.

Needless to say, they are already asking when it will snow more so that we can do it again. Hopefully soon because that was a blast. Plus it was a great excuse to make some delicious hot cocoa. Mmmm. Mmmm. Mmmm!

Snow day...

It is snowing today. Something that doesn't happen all that much in our neck of the woods. We are heading outside now to take advantage of it. My boys couldn't be more excited. More pictures to come is sure....
