We BBQ hamburgers and hotdogs and ate in the back yard. Luckily it was SUCH a BEAUTIFUL day! After lunch we opened presents. Kaysen was definately more interested in what Gage was getting than Gage was. This picture is of Kaysen handing Gage the gift that he got for him. As Kaysen handed it over he said, "It's a new phone Gage." So much for the surprise huh??? He is such a funny kid!
After the presents were opened we had cake. His theme was sports. So I made or actually attempted to make this jersey birthday cake. (it did not turn out like I wanted...it was too small to spell ALLSTAR with skittles so I had to improvise and use frosting...as you can tell I do NOT have a steady hand!)Oh well though...Gage LOVED it anyways!
At first he gently put his hand in the cake...then he just mushed it. I love this picture. It is like he is making a "yuck" face because of the feeling of the cake in his fingers. He got over that feeling and dove right on in and literally sucked all of it off of his hands. Doesn't he look like he is enjoying himself??
